Acrylic headlights oxidize when exposed to UV light and over time can yellow and diminish visibility. The lenses are made with a clear topcoat layer to help prevent this, but eventually, the coating wears off, and sunlight turns the hard plastic yellow, reducing the over effectiveness of the lights....
